you want loud? get a set of Pace Setter Lt's, ORY and a LoudMouth Exhaust..that should give you all the loud you want..you will have to replace, timing chain, pushrods, lifters, new gaskets those are the things I upgraded when I did my cam..went with Crane Lifters, Chromoly pushrods, SLP Dbl Roller timing chain, SLP head studs and a LS6 oil pump, just let the people at TXSpeed know what cam you are going with if you don't do heads and cam pkg as they will advise you on what kind of valve springs you may need..

I thought the whole point of this site was to have the ability to chat with and learn from others that share the same interest as us. I get really sick of everyone brow beating newbs. There is nothing wrong with posting a question in my book. Period. I think that some people just really get enthused about modding there cars and they post a question as quickly as it pops into their heads..... it's just excitement about this hobby it doesn't mean that they are lazy.

I wonder how many people don't post because they are scared they will get flamed by all of the some know it all.

dfwss: Hey man, shoot me a PM and I can get you pointed in the right direction from simple bolt-ons to heads/cam combos. Whatever your needs may be, I'm sure we can get you fixed up. You can ask all the questions you want too. Some people forget that's how you learn...

lol, wow tough crowd in here-i guess all i can say is to research, research, research--we've all been in this guys's shoes before and sometimes you can't always find what your looking for in the searches, but usually what i do if i find somebody thats making the power that i want and has the parts that i want: then i shoot them a pm an ask them questions, and as a last resort i'll post a thread

Is your car a stickshift or an auto? 450 with any kind of fuel economy is a tall order with an automatic (power consumption). A cam that makes that kind of power will probably require a 3600+ stall converter, not very friendly at the pump.

Now, if you have a manual, look at some of the ported LS6 heads available. If you don't fall into the bigger is better or TRex trap, you can still come close. Some well setup 224/224 cars have hit 400rwhp cam only, so getting 430+ shouldn't be far off with good heads. The last 15hp is up to your tuner and budget for supporting mods.

Good Luck!

Just to let you know bud, the t-rex is not a 224/224. It is a 242/248. Did you call TSP? If you are on that tight of a budget, they would be the best place to go. Hell even with no budget considerations they are one of the best. Have fun and learn as much as you can.

Yeah I appointed myself god, lol. Youre another funny one. Read my above post, Ive been around these cars for more than the year and change Ive been on this particular site. And Ive turned plenty of wrenches, as a matter of fact I have a cam I just pulled sitting on my lap right now, I was about to start a thread asking a question about the engraving on it right now till I read your dumb comments, asswipe.

And you been here 3 years and have a whopping 250 posts, probably most of them are as bright as the one above. Dont talk to me about wrench turning. If your "daddy" remark was geared to me that shows what you know of me. I have lived by myself since 18 and dont ask my parents for ****, I do very well on my own, better than you I am sure.

Oh and my dick is actually pretty big. Please let my nutz go now!!

There's a boat load to choose from. You could just about line them up on a wall and throw a dart to make your decision.
