Default OIL CHANGE LIGHT

I HAVE A 2000 TA. MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I CHANGED MY OIL AND ITS STILL ON. I HIT THE OIL RESET BUTTON, BUT WHEN I START MY CAR UP ITS STILL ON.I HEARD THAT THERE IS A WAY IF YOU TURN YOUR KEY FOWARD AND PUMP THE GAS OR BRAKE(NOT SURE) THEN IT WILL GO OFF. CAN SOMEONE SHED MORE LIGHT ON THIS.

All I ever do is turn the car to on (don't start it) and hold the trip reset button for 10 seconds, the light should then flash once and go off.

The exact operation is detailed in the owners manual if you can't get it.

I had this problem and was stopping by a local dealer to pick up some parts, and thought I'd mention it to them. They fixed it in about 2 seconds, but I wasn't watching so I can't tell you what they did. But, if it comes down to it, a dealer should be able to help you.

I don't know if the oil reset button trick works....but sounds like it should.....I know that if you turn the key to on and pump the gas 4 times than start your car ...the light will reset.. It will come back on in 3000 miles or so...even if you change your oil before then.

YES the oil reset thing works. The "reset" button is your tripometer button. Just put the key into the "ON" position and keep the trip button pressed for at least 10 seconds and it will turn off....it WILL come on again in about 3K miles....of course my light didn't start coming on until after about 20K miles
