Default Cylnder head porting

does anybody know what would be the best way to port ls1 heads? ive heard cnc porting is the way to go but wandering if hand porting would work. What sort of rwh gains would be achived along with a good cam & rocker package.
any advice will be appreciated

cnc is a nice exact port job. port to port, they are going to b consistent.

in my opinion, you will get better results from a hand ported set tho.

Clubsport, CNC combustion chambers are a good idea because any variance in them in size or shape
can cause missfire codes,LS1 are sensitve to this.
Most pro heads are hand finished even if cnc was done also. Heads are application specific, biggest flow can mean less useable power if used in wrong application. Port volume sets rpm level, port flow to size is what you want to look at, as well as improvement to flow at the lifts your cam see's.Driveability is enhanced with high swirl, when this is compromised for max flow you trade part throttle power for full throttle performance.
