confused about where cams peak power is at??
the more i read the board the more i get confussed on where cams peak at. i see some people that have 224/224 112ls cams shifting at 6600-6700 rpms and people that i know w/ the pig cam 226 .591 112ls shifting at 7000rpms. i would like to know the reasoning behind where most people shift at because mike at mms wants you to shift his 229 cam at 6800 rpms and i later read that the new 228 xer lobe cam would peak at around 6400 rpms so in theory u would shift at 6600-6700 right <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
any help would be appreciated

Possible reasons include:
* some cams hold their peak a little longer than others.
* 114 LSA cams will peak a little higher in the rpms.
* Some people short shift their big cams because they don't want to spin their stock bottom end above 6400 - 6600 rpms.
* larger gear spacing in A4s generally make it beneficial to increase shift points.
