I believe the XE-R 226 lobe is .585" lift with 1.7 rockers.
Check out http://www.racenet.net
They can order whatever cam you want and put it into a package with springs and pushrods. Good prices, too.

I would go with 981 springs min and double springs are recommended for that cam. I think it is a great choice in camshaft. That on 112LSA would be kick ***

Bigboss, that is a aggressive lobe, it has same seat duration as my 220* comp lobe but much more duration under lift curve. My single pattern cam is on a 112* LSA and i can tell you it feels stock accelleration and power until 4000 rpm plus, no loss of torque anywhere i can feel. NOW idle is good but warm restarts cause idle surge and hunting, which stabilizes after few seconds. With a M6 it sets missfire codes after driving three seperate times.(no programming) I am getting ready to race it this weekend and i will post results. I feel this seat duration is ideal for daily driver car, no bigger whithout 1000 rpm idle setting, mine idles at 800 ok, some lumpiness to it. Hope this helps

Re: X-ER 226 cam question...step inside...
See I got programming on the car right now, I am no longer an M6, and I used to get that same surging with my current cam with out programming...took the car a few days to get used to the new programming and from then on it was great...
I think my final decesion is to go with the X-ER Comp Cam with the specs of 226/226 .585/.585 112lsa, I guess I will switch over to the 981 springs from my 941's and would I need to touch anything else in the valvetrain if I got titanium retainers and pushrods right now?? I hope this cam makes some damn good power, how well would this work with stock heads, I don't plan on keeping the stock heads for long, just a question...

Re: X-ER 226 cam question...step inside...
i thought i posted this, but i guess it didnt show up. i dont know what size the 981's are, but if they are 1.44" like the 987's...you'll need to pull the heads for some machine work to install them. go with 918's till you put on some heads...then go with 987's or 981's.
or maybe chris typo'd and meant to say 918.

Re: X-ER 226 cam question...step inside...
i myself have never seen any documentation about 981's. 987's are double springs that may be on the soft side for an X-ER. however, with regular maintenance and all that...either 918's or 987's should do fine. 941's, 918's, and 987's all use different retainers. 918's can use the stock ones two. also, comp recommends 977's with the XE-Rs, and again, i just dont know anything about em.

I think Chris meant Comp 918s, not 981s. The 981s is good for stock or BABY cams. Do not even think about using them for something as radical as the 226 XE-R.

Also, if you are going to use a double spring, the Comp 987s will be fine. We use those on all our GTP stage 2 double spring packages with lobes just as agressive as the XE-Rs. The Comp 977s are an extremely stiff spring and is probably a little overkill for most applications.

So 987's would be the way to go, I assume they need there own retainers as well right? They are also double?

BIGBOSS, you probably want to replace lifter retainers that hold up lifters on cam change, running the higher lift cams and spring pressures seems to wear this out according to others on here.
