do i need an air compressor for swapping valve springs???

Default do i need an air compressor for swapping valve springs???

i can't seem to get my valve spring remover to fit in any of the springs. its really irratating me. do i have to use an air compressor to make the springs move up? thanks

Based on the nature of the question....are you SURE you wanna do this yourself?

You'd never get an air-driven spring compressor on the back springs... I agree with the post above. You might want to study a few install documents before you attempt this, and try to have some experienced techies with you. Good luck...

You HAVE removed the rockers right? Thats the only way the springs would still be compressed unless you had one hell of a bent valve.

If you know what you are doing you can use the piston to hold the vavles up while changing the springs but you have to turn the crank to bring the piston up for each cylinder first. Do not attempt unless you fully understand or you will drop a valve and end up pulling the heads.
