You guys have raised good points about the strokers but dont forget rod ratio. With stroke you need longer rods or you side load the piston which means alot of friction and quick wear. Also the pin sits higher in the piston and oil comsumption and other durability issues arise. I totally agree on the intake as a major factor also.

Hey Ryan (9 Ball),
What size custom liners do MTI sell?? What's the bore sizes and can they be bored more than 0.030" from new too or more?? Do they sell them separate for guys like us in Australia so we could have a local machine shop install them??
Thanks!

I don't have that technical info on the liners. Your best bet would be to email Jayson, the owner of MTI and ask him personally.

Well, it might be "under-square"...
But I don't really give a care.

Yeah, what cam are you other BIG motor guys going to run? Street cams or all-out performance?

Right now, I'm going to use the same cam that Colonel and PaiN are using (244/244 .610 112) since its a damn good hydraulic one. Next season I'd like to have a custom sheetmetal intake and a nice solid roller setup installed. 550+ rwhp all-motor would be too fun!

When I used to run nitrous on my old heads/cam setup, I pulled a best of 535 rwhp. I never got to run that size shot though, my clutch at the time would not hold it. I ran 130 mph trap speeds with 500 rwhp though. I'd LOVE to clear 130 mph trap speeds on motor now

I think I'm going to try one of the XE-R lobes in the 422 I'm getting built. Maybe the 232 grind. Go here for the specs.

OR

I might try a split duration grind(biased to the intake) with similiar lift and duration as the XE-R 232. A bore/stroker should be able to take advantage of the extra intake duration.
