Default TR224 or T1

I was just wondering if you guys knew which of these two cams had a rougher idle? Both of them being on a 112 LSA of course. Do you know if the TR224 puts out more than the T1 power as well? On MTI's site it doesnt say the C1 will work w/ stock heads?!? Is this true, it doesnt look like that big of a cam , I would consider that cam too. what are your guys opinions, anyone running a C1??

Thanks, Chris

I can give you some insight on the TR224. On Jason99T/A's stock headed car he puts down ~390RWHP through a 12 bolt w/4.30's. He's run a best of 11.51 @122. The idle is slightly choppy but very tame. I believe he has a 114LSA.

Another buddy of mine has a 112 in his '02 with stock heads. We haven't dynoed it yet, but he's run a best of 12.18 @116.5 with stock 3.42 gearing on 16" GSC's through full SLP dual-dual exhaust. It has a slightly choppier idle but still really tame. This is also without ANY tuning. We're hoping to get his car in for some LS1-Editing <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> and a dyno session soon.

Hope this helps...

Shane

As Shane said, I am running the TR 224 114lsa cam with great success. Very nice idle and a great cam in a street/strip car.

The T1 does idle a bit rougher compared to the TR 224 112lsa. The TR224 make slightly more low-mid range compared to the T1. They are pretty close in hp/tq up top.

I previously was running a B1 cam last summer w/ stock heads. The B1 was also a great street/strip cam. I do think the TR224 will driver better and make slightly more power.

For a weekend car that is street not track driven, would you recommend the TR224 on a 112 lsa or 114? It is a M6 with stock heads.

Also, is changing from a stock cam to a TR224 going to be rough on the engine life?
I don't beat on the car...much. I'm asking all this because I was thinking of getting in on the gp that's going on.

Thanks,
Brandon

I've had a T1 for about a week, and I'm very happy with it so far. Put down 367 to the wheels with stock heads, manifolds, and cats + the usual bolt ons. No track times yet. The 224 is a slightly bigger cam, so I'd imagine it would make a few more ponies over the T1, probably not a huge difference tho.
