Need advise on GM top engine cleaner...
Need advise on GM top engine cleaner... Has anyone let it sit overnight? The instructions on the can say "leave for 15mins. and then start the car" I was wondering how it would do if i left it 10 to 12 hrs.?

Re: Need advise on GM top engine cleaner... I sprayed it in last night at about 6:00pm. Started the car this morning to go to work at about 7:30am. No problems, it did smoke a fair amount. Also I wasn't able to have my car idle, so I had to have help keeping the engine going while I sprayed the can in. I also did the new pcv and the car is idleing much smoother, I'll have autotap results to look at when I get home tonight also.

I just used it on my truck, let it suck a good amount through the pvc, then poured the rest in through the throttle body and when almost empty, I let it flood the engine out. That was with the motor already warm. Then after letting it sit overnight, fired it up, until it idled on it's own, (lots of smoke) then took it down the road & got some good full throttle runs in until it didn't smoke anymore, & came home, changed the oil. For your info my gas millage was 13.5, and now I average 15.5. The truck is a 92, so I gotta believe the stuff works great. Gonna try it again before the next oil change & see if it helps out a bit more.
