JE forged pistons????

JE forged pistons???? Has anyone used them? I got off the phone with JE and they said its not a good N2O piston. Should I take there advice and order a custom piston?

I havent used them in LS1 application, but i know a good N/A piston has top ring groove very hi on piston for quicker cylinder pressure sealing, this same option makes for thin ring land to top of piston thickness, which gets too hot on nitrous and melts out of shape. Hope this helps.

Re: JE forged pistons???? It all depends on how much nitrous you are running. For a 100-200 shot you'd be okay. For anything over that I'd go with the manufacturer's recommendations. They are very conservative, which isn't a bad thing but considering how long stock pistons last with a 150 shot, I think you'll be fine with a forged JE they make an awesome product.

now why wounldn't a forged piston be good for nitrous?? REGULAR nitrous, not the 500+ fogger shots where you would need a thicker dome or something...
