Drop in oil pressure.
I've been noticing lately that my oil pressure at idle is lower than normal and the rpm's at idle are about 100 to 150 lower than normal. Car keeps great oil pressure (40+ psi) in normal driving, but it's down between the 40 and 20, so I would guess it's around 25 to 30 psi. Is this harmful? Did I do something to the motor possibly that could cause this? Thanks in advance.

Here is what I have noticed .. not sure if it is the same for you. When my oil is low (a bit) and I have been driving in stop and go traffic, my oil pressure will sometimes go just below 40 and my engine runs a bit hotter. I think this is do to the oil loosing some viscocity (sp). When I get back to normal driving and the engine temp goes down a few, at idle it is back to normal (just over 40).
Any chance this could be the same problem? I am going to try to fix this by going to Royal Purple .. I'd like to see how it fairs in stop and go traffic.
Just a thought.
