Default Checking for vibrations.. What is all required for the run-down

I should probably put this in the drivetrain section but figured it could be something in the engine.
How could I tell if my pulley is messed up? Are there any sort of tests I can run on the car to find out why it vibrates at a certain RPM?
The things that have been replaced since the vibration started were.
Pulley and the clutch. Maybe something didnt align right when putting the new clutch in.?
The car seems to somewhat shake a little bit "small vibrations" around 1500-2000 RPM's.
Anyone have any advise on a rundown I can do? Should I take it to a shop?

If you replaced your fly with the clutch, then this could very well be your problem. The original fly that I recieved from Mcleod wasn't balanced properly, it was just slightly off. I had it removed and balanced.

The vibrations that I experienced were in the lower RPM range and only occurred when the car was in gear and moving.

I had my flywheel resurfaced.. Could this be the problem?

Anytime you modify the rotating assembly (ie you take off metal somewhere) you can introduce balance problems. I guess it would depend on how good of a job they did.

You may also want to look into the install of the clutch. However, this would be a total pain in the a$$.

Good luck.

My stock 98, M6 TA does the same thing. While the car is in neutral, if i give it gas and hold it at ~1500 rpm i get a slight but noticable vibration in the car. Maybe this is why my car is slow compared to other LS1s <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I would definitely look at the clutch and flywheel before anything.

The pressure plate might not be engaging perfectly on center onto the fly.

I doubt this is what is making your car slow. However, if your clutch is really not aligned properly, it may be slipping.

FYI, a lot of high performance clutches shake a little. My mcleod, still after the balance, has a slight transient vibration in the low rpm. Something that I live with with a clutch that can put 400+ to the rear.
