Default Those withe ARE heads

I'm buying some used ARE S2 heads. I've seen in another post something about the springs hitting the valve covers? Is there something that needs to be done to the stock valve covers to remedy this. Thanks.

98 valvecovers need to be clearanced for dual springs. Rocker arms also need to be modified for some springs.

The valve cover bolt hole goes into the intake port (hole in port). Tell me this isn't a serious problem. Also how can I tell if these are genuine ARE S2 heads.

Going to take them to a shop tomorrow to measure the valves. Is this the only way to tell? I thought maybe ARE would put some sort of stamp on them or something.

I think a lot of ported heads have a rocker arm bolt that comes through a little on the intake port.

It's one of the 4 valve cover bolts that run down the center of the head.

Where did you take them to get them checked out? I live in IA and need to do the same thing.
Did they flow bench them? How much do they charge.

When ARE sells his heads he sends you a flow chart with your heads and your name on the form as well i believe. Might be a way of telling if this guy bought the heads or not.

i didnt get a flow sheet with my s2 heads

if you have centerbolt valvecovers then the heads are not 98 correct? must be 99+ so there SHOULD be no rocker clearance issue.

cut a bit off of this portruding bolt and put a dab of silicone on the end of it before you install it.
