h/c problems
My friends and I just installed H/C on my car. I gained pretty good power from them. When we first started my car up we did't completely plug in the fuel injector into the 5th cylinder. I drove on 7 cylinders for a couple days. Then when the fuel injector was plugged in the car ran really good for about 5 minutes. The problem is that the car surges now. When I am driving and I give it a little gas the car starts to surge. Also sometimes when I give it gas the tach and motor doesn't rev up. I can floor the car and the motor wont rev and the tach wont move. I have drilled out the throttle body 2 sizes larger and the car still doesn't want to idle. The car when it try's to idle will idle anywhere from 200 to 1000 rpm's. I have already checked the maf and it is good and I also changed the tps sensor. It really depends on what size cam you installed. If you installed a monster, your car isn't going to idle properly, and it is going to surge under low loads.
If you installed a mild cam, then there is something else wrong with your car.
As for the bit with your car not spinning up when you floor it: Your throttle position sensor might not have been properly installed. If you went with a ported throttle body, and had to switch all of that stuff over... it may be worth rechecking.
If your computer relearn was done for the first couple days on 7 cylinders you may want to redo it.

Yea, I got mild surging with my mild cam, I think it would be really bad if you were still on stock programming with a monster cam... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'm having the same idling problems...just did my h/c last weekend. Haven't drilled out my t/b yet because I'm waiting on LS1edit to see if I'll need to or not. Are you running real rich?? I'm trying to poll some people to see if I'm the only one. I agree with the computer trying to relearn...might want to reset it.

With my original and ported TB, I had to turn up the throttle blade adjustment screw. If left at the stock place it would surge, die, and while driving surge when letting off throttle. I believe almost a full turn and it cured it to about 95% perfect. Try it?
I second what DAND35, said, raise idle speed up to 100 rpm, no SES light or surging now, car seemed to learn cam mods(m6) and it runs great a week later or so. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
I installed the g5 cam so it is prettty big. I just replaced the tps sensor. I don't think I could screw that up you just unbolt it and rebolt it. But it sucks when you pull out in traffic and then the car wont move. One of these days I am going to get killed. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
I raised the idle speed up to about 9 hundred and now every time I drive it when I push in the clutch the rpm's go up. It usually goes up to about 2500 and stays there for about a minute and then it will go down. Anyone have any suggestions. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
