Default Paging Fireball (Brian)

My (your) transmission is on it's way out, I think. Sometimes I throw it in 2nd gear and it feels like it goes it, but when I put the gas back down...nothing, free rev. Place it in 2nd again, car goes forward. Very weird. Also, shifting seems overly notchy. I replaced the tranny fluid about 300 miles ago. The fluid that came out seemed fine. Also, car like to bump reverse out of gear (or not go in at all sometimes). Takes me like 2 minutes to back up out of a parking spot. People think I can't drive a stick. Do you have any idea what's going on? Has this ever been a problem with any of your other transmissions? I figure the tranny has about 60K or so on it by now.

Kris, do you have a Mcleod adjustable master cylinder? If so, I'd try adjusting that and see if it helps.

Yep, I have the adjustable master and the newer GM slave too (as well as a McLoed single w/aluminum flywheel). Do you think maybe the master just needs an adjustment??

sounds like syncros going out...I've really never had that problem but I've had trannys pop out of 3rd occasionally.

Either way, I'm moving this to drivetrain
