Default cam spec questions...

I'm still new to the whole cam spec thing, and have been reading about the differences between lobe seperation, lift, duration, etc. The cam I have has an unusual spec, and I'm wondering for what application it could've been intended. It has a very low lift in comparison to other cams, so I'm thinking it was meant for a high RPM setup. Here are the specs:

228/234 510/510 114lsa

The top end of the motor is still stock (intake and everything) with the exception of removing the MAF screen and doing the !TPS mod. I just had it dynoed and pulled 355 rwhp and 353 rwtq. I was real happy with the torque curve (stayed above 300+ throughout the entire RPM range). Rev limiter is currently set to 6500 (HPP3). My plan is to add more air with a ported TB, LS6 intake, ported MAF, and MAF-T, and more fuel with 2001 injectors. I'm also going with an underdrive pulley. Then I was going to have the car custom dyno tuned once all that was finished. My main question is what do you suppose this cam was meant for and how best to optimize it with the stock heads? Thanks.

I was considering the possibility of a Powerdyne and a bottom-end rebuild at some point in the distant future to accomodate some form of power adder (aside from nitrous). Comments?

And I just got done reading the loooong cam specs thread for the first time. I noticed an interesting possibility to better this cam setup. 1.8 rockers! If my calculations are correct, this would increase lift to .540. Not quite sure how it would effect duration, though, because I don't know the ramp rate of this cam (or do I? ).

I don't think the 1.8 rockers have much effect on duration, but they would increase the lift. 1.8's are pretty pricey around $599 I think, and you'd probably need to do springs with the extra lift. Instead of doing the 1.8's it might be worth just doing a cam swap, MTI and Thunder Racing often sell cam package in the $600 range.

The 1.8's, I've told are worth 5-8rwhp on a stock cam'd car, with the bigger cam you have I'd guess 6-10rwhp.

Not sure I want to go to the expense and time of installing a different cam until I've exhausted the possibilities with this one. We'll see. Thanks!
