Default Preluber install

Going to install a Pre-Oiler. What location would be good on an LS1 to tap into the oil system for the output of the pump? This is an external pump with AN fittings.

I agree that it's external, but oil touches it so it gets categorized as an "internal" mod. SO, I'm moving this one over to internal mods.

i havent seen anyone try a pre-oiler.. what kind of results are you looking for? i cant see it being worth anything..

on the 'moving topic' reply , thats sorta silly.. i know it doesnt matter at all but our intakes and throttlebodies also touch oil, so better move all those posts until we have the pcv problem fixed

Since 98 percent of all engine wear occurs at engine start, I think a pre-luber is a good idea. They're kinda pricey (the one I wanna get is over $200), but it's cheap insurance.

I intend to install engine oil and trans fluid coolers and a remote oil filter. The pre-luber would most likely come after that. Good luck.

I'm in process of installing an AccuSump to maintain pressure on turns and to prelube the engine and am using Earl's AN hose and fittings. Am running the lines from where the oil filter goes using a PermaCool remote filter adapter. The part number from Jegs is 771-195 (thanks to Todd Brandon on this board for the number). It has 3/8" NPT threads, in and out, and Earl's has adapters to both #8 or #10 AN hose. If you go this route, you'll need a remote filter. Hope this helps.

Yes, it clears the hood fine.

Next step is to install oil lines and then control box.
