Default What did the LQ9 come in?

Looking into buying a LQ9 block. Just wondering what I should be looking for it to be in. Having trouble with current build and don't really have the cash for a 402/408 iron short block. Is there anyway I could put my MS3 in the LQ9 along with my valvetrain and sensors from my LS1? Sorry for the newbie questions, just my nerves are ruined due to current problems.

The LQ4 is a 6.0 Ltr too? What's different about it from the LQ9?

the lq9 came with aluminum heads, whereas earlier lq4's came with iron heads. i have to revise my earlier statement, the lq9 only came in the escalades 02-present, and the 04 silverado ss. the lq4 comes with 300-325hp/335-370tq, and the lq9 is rated at 345hp/380tq.

Cool, thanks for the info. So if I was to find a LQ9/LQ4 would I beable to put my heads on it and plug all my sensors in it and it work in my car (with re-tune)? I just can't afford a big-displacement iron right now. But if I could get a 6.0 ltr for cheaper/as cheap as a factory LS1 I'd rather have it for future builds. Thanks again.

LQ4s also came with aluminum 317s in later versions, only the first LQ4s had cast heads

only diffrence between a LQ4 shortblock and LQ9 shortblock are the pistons. LQ4s are slightly dished...

Found a 8000 mile LQ9 out of an all wheel drive '05 Escalade for $1500 for long block. Has a 4l60e in it too. Guess I'm going to go with that. Thanks.
