Default ls1 engine problem

ok...so i was driving my car(when the tranny WAS good) and 2nd gear went out, the car bounced off the rev limiter...and ever since then the car has had a miss to it and kind of a ticking sound. i ran the codes, it says cylinder 4 misfire. i checked the plug...good, i checked the wire....good...i was about to check the coil pack and it shocked the hell out of me..so i guess its good also. i checked compression...good. i pulled the valve cover off...spings, rockers, were good, and pushrods were nice and flat no warp to them. i started the car with the valvecover off for a minute and it seemed like everything was moving very well and nothing was wrong. what should be the problem? ive heard the injector and the coil might be grounding out and making the tapping sound..have yet to go the distance and check them but i just wanted to get some more opinions

I hate to say it but possibly a bent valve? VERY ODD to bend a valve without bending the PR, but...

i thought about that but would everything be moving ok with a bent valve???...would a lifter make it have a hesitation?
