Things are looking good Joe. If I remember correctly, that thing makes a lot of midrange torque, its not really a peak but huge summit.

I wish I could have stayed longer, but you gotta balance car and wife time. I was impressed from the first pull, 396/385...not too bad.

Good job Joe. Im sure after some cleaning up of my programming, I'll be right along side those numbers.

Thanks guys, Yes we are a little busy, and my energy level really isn't what it used to be. Mike, I heard alot about your car from a mutual friend and that is impressive! good combo. I was working on a theory with the above car, but it didn't take the exact effect that I was looking for, not that it's terible, but I was really pushing the envolope of the flow #'s that stock valves can handle. I really don't want to call them S2's but there not exactly S1's either, never the less, I am done with that program because I feel that we made more power over all with the 2.02's Duh.. But sometimes with R&D, you have to take a step back to assert a good step forwards. Not to put blood in the water here, but we made almost theidentical power through an unlocked auto 3:23 gear S2 224 car the had LT's with cats so I think the auto car IS laying down more power...?

Default Yesterdays dyno results

Re-visiting Dave W's dyno expectations from last weeks thread, he owns a 2001 Formula M6 with 4:10's, I guess to start out with, this was my last attempt at S2 flow figures with stock valves at 10.4 compression, TR 224/112 cam, Mac headers W/ORP, factory cat back pipes W/Dyno Max HF muffler? No Cut-out, No pully, all belts on the engine when tested, custom programming . This was specifically designed to run 95 % street duty and the Mac catted pipes were on backorder from the install date soon to arrive and install, this car may see only 5 passes on the track each year. All told at the end of the day, the best we turned in was SAE corrected 411 @ 6,100 and 390 @ 4,600 which in my estimation isn't too bad, BUT when I leaned the table down to 13.4 after TQ peak to trail off to 13.8 to the HP peak we made 10 more horse but really hurt the mid range TQ by 8-11 across the board and I wasn't very happy with that so it was returned to where it was on the 411 pull then the R1 02 sensor just turned off out of the blue and had to be replaced. I was hoping for 420/400 right out of the box even without all the above mentioned enhancements, obviously, this is not a all out bolt on car.... Yet! I have the sheets here and would like to post them in this thread for them to be scrutinized so I will give them to Bob or Tom to host N Post by Monday. Jim did very well for an S1 head and 212 cam through cats and a M6 with a 4:10 12 bolt, He turned in 371 and 369 with nominal tunning issues, I will let him comment. I feel that with all things considered, 2.02 and 1.57 valves are the way to go even if the flow bench figures are within a very small percentage are very close. Brien ran out of time waiting for the dyno, and Dennis is out of town on busi so we didn't get those re-tunes out of the way. I have 4 more recent build and re-tune cars going on next week and 2 are TRUE S2's cars to match for comparisons sake.
Joe.

Nominal tuning issues , running just "a little" rich lol. I am pleased with the results and will see what the car does on the track with the rental in June. Also something came up that I will be able to put that Thunder Cam in sooner than you think. Probably mid-june if you can fit me in Joe. I will shoot you an E-mail with the specifics.

By the way what the hell is the Shad festival????? We went through it to get back to the highway. Alot of Motorcycles.

Joe,

Congrats on Daves' numbers. I bet he's very happy with his car. Man peaking at 6,100 rpm Gotta love it!!! Sorry i missed my dyno tune on Saturday, but i had to go out of town on business. I'm dying to drop the cats and lock the Vig. up and see what the car pulls this time. Keep up the good work dude.

I wish I could, but I don't have it in E-mail form, I don't own a scanner but my friend Matt has all the equipment to Host N Post, but he couldn't figure out how to insert it last night, my friend got him on the right track this morning and he is going to post it once he gets home from work. What a PITA! , I gotta get a scanner....
