stock cam and ported heads
S2 heads would be too large for a stock cam. Mild ported heads with stock valves and stock cam should give a decent amount of power in the upper rpms. Maybe 20hp <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> At least add a small 212 cam. That would be a nice stealthy upgrade.

Actually we have been discusiing this with regards to the LS6 engine in the Z06 over on z06vette.com.
Two threads that you may wish to look at are these.

The other was a look at what camshaft selection on the Z06. The question was what could be done to an otherwise stock Z06 to produce more power. Roger Ramjet did a model of the engine and came up with a preliminary design. He currently lacks some of the information required to finish this model and devlop a new cam. But the initial results sound interesting. You might look at this thread also.

In full weight 6 speed Camaros with 4:10 gears and our S1 heads, we have pulled off 12.08 - 12.11's in the quarter mile with the stock cam. with our S1 heads and a 2001 Z06 cam we have ran 11.8X in the quarter with full weight WS6 with 3:73 gears and have turned in dyno sheets of high 374 RWH even through stock exhaust manifolds. I don't know if that helps any? I guess the point I am making is that with a well matched package, you can make small/stock cams work very well. I wouldn't use a stock cam with an S2 + head, but then again, I haven't tried that yet.
