Default ls7 or caddy lifters?

Wondering which of these lifters i can use in my ls1. Would any need modifications? Also part numbers would be great.

You can use both, look in Katech's web for Cadi's and SDPC for LS7

i went with the LS7s for my heads/cam build... i got them from my local chevy dealer for $109. you might call around some of your local dealers and see what they get for them.
on a side note... you'd be wise to look them over VERY closely before you give them their oil bath! i was checking them all out when i noticed a chip in the edge of one of the BRAND NEW lifters. upon closer inspection i noticed a crack going from the edge of the lifter (the thinnest part at the corner of the roller) up the lifter body about 3/8" and back up the lifter, making a "y" looking crack... just a heads up for ya to check EVERYTHING over very well!!!

good luck

mac

You will have to look to SDPC for the caddy lifters also. I seen a post yeaterday with somebody wanting to know where to find them and Katech directed them to SDPC.

LS7's lifters are fine...the Caddy lifters are for high rev. people or those with high horse power serious durability needs. They are also 2X $$$ as much as the LS7's!

From what I'm understanding, the new GM replacement lifter for all LS1, LS6, & LS2 applications is the LS7 lifter. All previous versions are no longer being manufactured. I heard that the Caddy lifters will also quiet down the valve train a bit.

I ordered the Caddy lifters thru TSP, although I don't know where they obtained them.

What is the advantage to the LS7 lifters compared to stockers?

My question exactly. Stock lifters are fine. We use the caddy lifters when using a highly aggressive spring/cam setup.
Other then that save your money and go buy yourself a lapdance.

LS7 lifters are suppose to perform better at higher RPMs than the old style stock lifters.

I had to take the heads off to resolve some other issues (bent valves) and i figure since im in there for 120 why not. It would suck to have a lifter problem and then have to take the heads off again and spend 150 for cometic gaskets.

What would be better for a fairly high lift LSK cam? I won't be spinning it past 6400.
