Harlan pretty much covered it. Not difficult at all. Just go slow and measure everything two or three times.
When using the rind file, squeeze both sides of the ring against the file to keep things "squared-up".

Thanks for the tips on squaring. Im trying to save money wherever feasible. what gaps did you guys go for with boost? I have the sheet that came with the rings but wondered if you guys varied for any reason.
Harlan what was the problem with your block/piston fit

I am in the prcess of my rebuild and wondered if i should try this part. The local machine shop wants 100 bux to do it. my friend will loan me his ring filer. is this a really difficult task?
If you have a ring filer, it's pretty easy to do.
We did it twice due to the "issue" on the bore size.
Anyway, it's easy.
You'll need a good set of feeler gauges too.
Pick you end gap. Put the ring in the bore and push it down w/ the piston to keep it level in the bore. Measure the gap, and then grind till you have it right.
Go slow till you get the hang of how much it takes to grind. Be sure to keep the ends square when you grind.
