Default Heads installed and all is well....

Some of you may have read that my youngest brother recently performed a 5 to 2 (yes you read that correctly) mechanical overrev on his '00 SS. He bent nearly all his valves and had no compression. Thus, I ordered some complete heads from Valvegod to slap on there.

I researched jMx's site for his head install tips and it was great. So we get the heads off and are greeted with this:

Some great and deep *** witness marks. I sanded them down as best I could and cleaned everything out. Thanks to jMx and Raughhammer's tips on cleaning the gasket material off the block, it worked great.

We fired it up and all works just great. It no longer sounds like it has an aftermarket cam in it and purrs real nice. However we did snap off the damn oil pressure sending unit so we'll get a new one put on shortly.

Again, many thanks to everyone on the forum for their insight and especially jMx's site it was a wonderful help.

PS: I hate F-bodies and their position of the LS1. Why can't they make it easy like the C5's?
