Default ls6 cam in a ls1

my stock ls1 cam just got ruined and i think im going to put a ls6 cam in my car. got any tips on wat to buy as far as push rods, valve springs,etc.??

I'd go with something larger than an LS6 cam... at least a gt2-3 from LPE or a cheatr cam. I'd also go ahead and get some comp 918 valvesprings along with some hardened pushrods.

I agree with baldurann - at least go with the gt2-3. I ran that cam for about a year, with decent power & virtually stock sounding idle. Its a great smooth sleeper cam.

+ 1 on CheaTR cam from Thunder Racing. If you still have your stock exhaust this cam will work fine with it because it doesn't need a free flowing exhaust to make power. Thunder also recommends double valve springs and titanium retainers for this setup. You can get the springs and the Ti retainers from Patriot performance. Ask for the Xtreme Gold package and you get all the goodies for about $250. +1 on the hardened pushrods. This will put you back in business and put a smile on your face too.
