I would get TSP 5.3 stage 2.5 heads 1200.00 and they come with good springs. Better heads then the 5.3 cost alot more. I would also get a smaller cam. You can get it all from TSP. Bigger cam less low end torque more top end HP. You can get it as a package from TSP and it will be cheeper.

I agree with yellowtoy, go with a set of proven CNC'd stock castings and add a smaller cam that will maximize your DCR. With the cam you are leaning towards, you will have to flycut the pistons to get enough p/v clearance to enable you to mill the heads enough to get your DCR back up to where it needs to be for a streetable (not lazy) street car. A cam with less duration will maintain the DCR better without requiring you to raise the SCR through the roof, while also providing more p/v clearance to begin with. At least this is the path I am planning, I will post results once it becomes a reality.

My car made 420 RWHP / 390 RWTQ with a set of Livernois CNC Stage 1 LS6 Heads. This was with a small 224/228 114 cam, Longtubes, O/R X-pipe, stock Z06 Catback, and LS6 Intake. I was extremely happy with the results and drivability was perfect. I went from running 13.4 @ 104 with a catback to 12.3 @ 119 with those mods on street tires.
