Default Simple Retainer Question

I want to start off by saying "thank you" - any help on this is greatly appreciated!

Cliff Notes: I bought my 2000 C5 from a guy that installed the SLP valvetrain kit. Comes with LS6 springs, Roller Rockers, Ti Retainers, etc. I had a shop install a G5X2 cam kit about a year ago. The kit came with Titanium retainers, etc, so the shop but the old springs, retainers, etc in a box (which i still have). I sold that car. I am installing a TSP cam this weekend and remembered that I still have those old retainers from the SLP kit.

Question: how can i be SURE that the retainers i have in the box are not the normal steel ones that come with the car? Are they a different color? Are they OBVIOUSLY of different weight just from holding in my hand? I don't want to buy new retainers, but i know that the Ti retainers will help with valve float issues, somewhat.

Thanks!!!

^ the springs that i have in the box that were used with the retainers in the box are straight wound. They are the yellow stripe LS6 springs. Does that help? I'm putting 918's in the car (which are also straight wound...at least they look that way to me! )

The 918s are beehive. Ti has a rather dull appearance somewhat like stainless. It isn't polished or plated looking. I knew the magnet trick worked on stainless, but I didn't know it works on Ti as well. You'd probably need a gram scale to measure the difference Ti retainers and the OEMs.
