whats the diff between 241 and 706 heads i have a 01 WS6 with the 241 casting # heads i picked up a set of spare heads with a 706# ive seen them on the 5.3 truck engine anyone know the diff (if any) in combustion chambers,port or valve sizes

Re: whats the diff between 241 and 706 heads 5.3 heads have a 60cc chamber (vs the 5.7 head's 67cc) from the factory. Valve sizes are smaller but I think ports are the same. To make the 5.3 heads more usable they need to be equipped with larger valves and have the combustion chambers unshrouded.
