yeah you have to do some cutting on the piston if you go with 2.5 your best choise is to go with LS6 stage 1 that would fit perfect and i have an ms4 in my car with 65,000 miles and it runs great you just need a good tune

My buddy did the MS4 in his 99 A4 SS with 158k on the clock......No tune and daily drives it just fine....drives better than mine that has a mail order tune!! He drove on the stock converter for 2 weeks and no problem but now he has a 3800 stall.

No he is on a stock tranny but only for now cause he is building a seperate one for the car. Stock rear end aside from the Richmond 3.73's. Yea its his stock LS1, and im thinking his car is just weird to run as well as it does with out a tune and on a stock stall. I would definately recommend a stall to get the most out of ur investment and make it easier to drive.

Also if i were to put in the MS4 i would put in a SLP oil pump, timing chain, and the Texas speed MS4 cam package, with the MS4, dual springs, and push rods. Any chanch of blowing anything in my car up.

Thanks

A MS4, no tune, a stock stall converter, and no daily driving issues? I'm having a hard time with that.

Yea u aint the only one...lol...I was talking to Jason at TSP and he was surprised aswell.

A stall makes it easier because it slips more than ur stock TC.....On ur stock TC and a cam like the MS4 its gonna surge pretty bad and wanna push thru ur brakes. Ur gonna be standing on the brakes at stop lights.

big time standing on the brakes you really need to get that TC first before that cam in my opinion, i never really understood why you needed those things until i jumped head first into a cam only MS4 A4 deal. the car dosnt have any power taking off and the part throttle bucking under 2100 rpm's is noticable. i'm getting about 10 mpg (sucks i know but i wasnt getting more than 17 before i started modding it) also make sure you have a free flowing exhuast...your cam is going to want it. let me see...what else.... oh yeah expect the car to smelly gassy at idle in park, with such a big *** overlap it tends to leak fumes out at idle. other than the TC, i'd get the rear gears done too and be set.

i like the last two the gears and the stall....the other stuff is suspension stuff, thought you were trying to get the engine to run right first then stiffening the car

I daily drive it in my heavy GTO. I generally get bucking under 1500 RPM. Jeremy Formato did my tune and we spent about 6 hours on the car. It drives perfectly. You just have to get used to getting the RPMs up a little to really haul ***. Its so so in traffic with an M6. However if this is your first cam Id get something smaller. I had a 224 first and I wanted to try the other side of the spectrum an went with the MS4. You should also consider the 230/233 TSP cam.

Anyone that complains about the driveability of the MS4 cam just needs a better tune. My car idles at 850 rpms, starts up perfectly and has ZERO bucking or hesitation issues in traffic. All in all it pretty much drives like a stock car.
