Cam install put on hold Well, the install was going great...everything came right off and we were flyin' through the install with no problems. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> And then Steve my buddy dropped one of the Valve Spring Locks in the frame somewhere. <img border="0" alt="[fight]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_punch.gif" /> DAMN! Know we have to wait till monday to go to the dealer and get some extra little locks, this sucks. Take my advice, don't drop your locks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Re: Cam install put on hold yea took me an hour and a half the first time i dropped mine. and of course over the weekend <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> if i drop them now they are easy to find since i have removed so much crap from the engine bay. just poke my head in there and look lol. get the long magnet thing and run it thru there for awhile until you pick it up. check around wires and stuff, that where they usually catch at instead of falling to the floor

This same thing happened to me too! I looked all over the place for that little lock. I had my hands into places that caused my car to blush. Sooo, I went to the Pontiac dealer and bought a couple of locks only to get back home to find that the parts guy had sold me the wrong ones. Several days go by and I finally get the right ones. I finished the job, started the engine, got past the scare of all the initial valvetrain noise, and took the car for a little test drive.
When I got back, I was cleaning up some stray tools and noticed a little piece of metal on the floor near the garage door. It was the missing valve lock!!! It had fallen down the passenger side of the engine, hit the floor, and somehow ended up down near the rear end. Boy, did I feel dumb.
I still enjoyed hearing that someone else did it too.
