Default Hypothetical question...

So let's say you got a set of stock LS1 heads laying around. And a 5.3L truck in the driveway that needs a bit more towing power

If one were to have the heads "worked on", what cam would you pick to go w/ the heads on a 5.3L. Keep in mind there's an ATI in the near future for this motor. Still deciding P1SC or D1

LT's are already on the way, and the exhaust is done already.

Of course this is all hypothetical

LS6

Cheap, split pattern should work well with blower. Relatively low lift so spring life should be good even with blower (and possibly upgrade to 918s).

If you're gonna tow your car with it, you dont wanna go to radical, and less cubes as well so its going to have to "look" small.

hmmm

a little lope might be nice too

would it be too much to ask, and i know it prolly is, to have a cam i can get away with in this setup and possibly a nice stroker 6.0L??

something in the <220° range, maybe on a 114 and mid .500 too radical?

I would go with a 218/218 dur with .535/.535 lift on a 116 lsa.

I would think if you're going to tow with it, lope would be a bad thing. Anytime I hear lope, I always think of the powerband moving on up in the RPM's, and if this is a towing vehicle, you want a relativly flat torque/hp curve. Just my .02
