Is this normal? I noticed that my car is smoking when I start it if I let it sit for a couple days between start-ups. It did it again today and so I revd it up to about 4 grand and it still let out a little smoke. I haven't noticed it to smoke when I drive it. It's a 2001 WS6 and only has 8600 miles. It was a quart low when I got it so I changed the oil with Valvoline Synthetic 10w30 and put in the truck PCV valve but I haven't put enough miles on it yet to tell if it's burning oil. Should I be concerned? What would the dealer most likely do if I took it in? I've heard that some people are getting the 02 rings put in under warranty, but I've heard that doesn't always help. I'm kinda scared to let the local dealer go inside my engine anyways cause I may end up with more problems than I went in for. Is there anything cheap & simple to do that will keep it from fumigating the garage. Thanks!

Re: Is this normal? It's not real bad but you can definately see and smell it in the garage. It's just like when my valve seals were first starting to leak on my old IROC's. I'm taking the car in on Wednesday. I guess I'll tell them about it too. I didn't buy the car locally so since I didn't purchase it from my local pontiac dealer I'm not so sure they're gonna be very cooperative. I'm afraid they're gonna say that it's normal since it doesn't do it at every start up. I don't know how I should rebut them. I have good oil pressure. I've never heard of anyone having problems with the valve seals. From all the posts I've read with oil consumption problems I'd say that has to be it.
