Default 941 Valve Spring is a time-bomb

I really don't understand why almost all LS1 sponsors recommended the 941 springs along with most popular cams they sold that had .500~.590 lift in the past(before 918 available) , if you check out Comp Cam's website or speak with their reps regarding the 941 specs, then you should know the 941 is rated at .500 lift MAX it is definitely the WRONG spring for your Hotcam, T1, B1, Thunder Racing, and other cams that have over .500 lift!!

Its all relative. The CompCam site lists the max lift based on coil bind when installed at the small block chevy install height. The LS1 has a taller install height and can accommodate more lift.

I know MTI never recommended using Comp 941s for more than .558" lift on an LS1 install height. And like you said, there really wasn't very many good options for springs available at the time.
