Burning Oil...Help!!!!! My car is burning oil fast. I read something about cruddy rings in the pre-2002 LS1's. Do you guys think a dealership will still do warrantee work on a 2000 Z28 with 34,XXX miles, Borla, Hurst shifter, all free mods (air box cut up pretty bad), and a Whisper lid? If they won't warrantee it how much would this kind of job usually cost?

Hi man, I just figured that I would put my 2 cents in here. I have a friend that drives a 98' Z28. His uses about a quart a month. He took it to the dealership to get it checked out, and they say that it is normal for the pre 01' models to burn as much as a quart every two weeks. Since then we have been really curious about it and have been searching the forums for info. We have concluded that he will just live with it. Everyone is saying that it is normal. He has a warranty through the bank that he financed it through, but they wont pay for anything unless the dealership says its bad. Go figure?
