Power limit on stock bottom end LS1?
Right now I'm at 600 at the motor, figuring in a 20% loss. How much can I push it to? I will keep it where it is right now. But for those times when I need to push the envelope, what is the max I can push it to?
For example:
600-safe
650-pushing it
700-on the edge

I can say one thing.. No one really knows what the limits of the stock bottom end can take. Why? Most of the bottom end that have gone astray has been caused by poor tuning and experimenting with more poor tuning. Oh yeah, factory tolerances as well. The ls1 is still in the infancy stages of testing. We are still doing R&D. I personally think 600 hp is enough for most. You also have to remember you will never be the fastest.. There is a new fastest being built as we speak. Not counting the people who never post on this board, but read it quite frequently. We have come a long way in the past 3 years.. Give it another year or so and you will find out the limits of the stock bottom end..
I have good tuning right now, but I'm not going to go more than one more year before building up the bottom.
I figure I should be good for another 30-50 hp. GM must have done some testing on the stock engine, to determine how well the rods & crank would hold up.. Anyone have privy to this info?

right now that i know of y2khawk has the lead with 570 at the tires in a six speed.. but i don't doubt that some heads/cam and 200 shot people out there have danced above that, for a short period of time im sure
