TR 224/112 S2 heads dyno numbers *and graph*
Steve "Shiznity" and I had an impromptu dyno session late today, Thanks Jayson at Heffners Performance! Well, Steves car Modds read like this, JPR S2 heads, TR224/112 cam, Mac headers, 3:73's, TH400 Trans with a 4,000 stall, 3" steel drive shaft, Factory programming, dynoed with a factory Throttle body, LS6 intake, Lid N Filter with 6 codes in the computer and 1 bad R1 02 sensor. I ran down to Baltimore to "tune it in" seat of the pants without edit. the final numbers with a nasty rich condition 12.3 - 12.6 practicly across the board was 388HP/432TQ at 91 degree shop temps. We are going to get together up here to re-tune it in with Edit at JD's shop but it's close enough now that it's driveable. I have no idea how much power a TH400 trans and an unlocked 4,000 converter soaks up, but I am sure with edit and a real Throttle body I can get this package well over 400 RWH with an open converter. To be continued!
Joe.

*added the dyno graph for JPR --Fireball*
The Blue dyno graph line is an off the street base line, the Red line is the improvement with a translator with the new package. Still needs tuning.

Joe, I'll scan that sheet tonight and post it for you this evening (if you or shiznit don't beat me to it )

Here's a comparison for you. I dynoed before and after my TH400/9" swap. I lost 30RWHP and gained 25TQ going from a T56 with a 10-bolt and 3.73's and stock DS to a TH400 with a 4500 converter and ford 9" with 4.11's and steel DS.
I would like to thank joe for doing a damn good job last night. with just a maf-t amazing first(untuched) to last run netted 14 rwhp and almost 60 RWTQ just with a maf-t . This thing pulles like a beast. power every where. fireball took my graph to post so it should be up soon.
just a side note. with the same mods -jpr's stuff it made 295rwhp and 350 rwtq(380 spike below 4000) with stock heads so thats a damn good pickup.

Sounds like you've got a winner Steve. That trans and converter have to be sucking up some power. That doesn't matter they'll get the job done on the track where it counts. Sounds like 400 + rwhp after tuning. Congrats.

Not too bad Shiznity.
I've seen a couple dyno sheets of others running about the S2 H/C setups and after tuning they were around 405/445.Once u tune her in with LS1 edit you'll be right in line.
I bet the car feels great and will lay a down good number.
Good luck....

No u misunderstood me Shiznity.These numbers I posted were of two S2 H/C cars w/TH400/big verters and 12 bolts.After LS1 editing---->405RWHP/445RWTQ
Your right in line with them and still havent LS1 edited your car.Once u edit you'll be right in line with them.
Very impressive numbers!!
I'm sure Joe told u the MAFT is okay but it isnt LS1 EDIT.Your leaving about 20 and 20 on the table.Once its retuned u will see what I mean.
Good luck

Thanks JS, I have his same package getting installed on an M6 next week so it will be interesting to see the difference in power from the TH400 4,000 stall to a stick, I am expecting no less than 430 RWH with a great TQ line tuned in. And yes, I have no doubt in my mind that this package in Steves motor will go 400 RWH open, we are only 12 HP away right now and there was just too many problems working against us at Hefners on Monday, the recorded inlet temps were 91-93 F / driving in with a bad 02 sensor thats being learned in or out by the PCM/ bad pinion angle and unballanced 3" steel driveshaft is robbing power from the dyno and how many times did the WB probe blow out of the exhaust pipe right in the middle of a run? Not good for tunning or at least trying to extract a good number off the dyno and the other problems we ran into and yes nothing beats Edit and I just need a more controlled enviroment to tune it in right, none the less, his car did pretty well all thing considered! We will address those other problems mentioned above by the next session . I will see you at Cecil Friday night.

What A/F do you shoot for on the dyno? 12.6 on the dyno will be close to 13:1 at the track and I assume that you tune a bit richer (low 12s) near max torque for best power.
