spinning assembly questions
If you burned the spark plus electrode/s off, thats from heat, meaning you should look at how lean it is. What fuel system do you have?
Also depending on your combination/jetting etc, you will probably need colder heat range plugs.
Stock crank apparently is good for 7,000+. Anyone else? On a set-up like what you said (not a lot of info to go by though) you won't want an aftermarket crank unless you intend to add a stroker.
Lunati makes the crank, rods, pistons, etc, although ours are a mixture. We have a different brand pistons in our 346ci.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

I would definitely use the stock crank on the rebuild. There are quite a few guys putting a lot of power down with the stock unit, and one board member (Joe Kizzire) has spun up to 8,000 RPM with the stock crank in his 370 cid solid-roller setup! I have a friend that is getting ready to assemble his stock cid bottom-end, and he's using the stock crank, stock rods, and forged JE pistons & wrist pins. He's expecting 430-440 RWHP N/A with the heads/cam setup, and then he'll top it off with a TNT 150 shot. He's gunning for 600 RWHP on the bottle. As mentioned, you'd better have a fuel system that's up to the task of delivering that much fuel! A good intank pump is a start, and I would start searching old posts in the nitrous forum to see what others have done for fuel systems. I know that Thunder Racing recently built a forged bottom-end 346 cid for "Coach"; I'd recommend that you contact them about a new setup.

For quotes for forged piston/rod combos.
Also we have a 2000 SS A4 setup, complete from TB to oil pan, with converter, trans, pcm and harness, for $3600.
Also Scoggin Dickey our GM sponsor is now carrying Lunati and JE pistons.
My first built motor was a stock CI motor with JE pistons. stock bore (just honed the cylinders), and Dyer rods.
