whats the difference between the 98and2002 heads?

AFAIK, there is no difference in the ports or combustion chambers.

The only differences I'm aware of is the centerbolt valvecover pattern on the newer heads.

I could be wrong though...

Your right about the valve covers. LS6 heads have a smaller compresion chamber and have a D-shaped exhaust port.

Default whats the difference between the 98and2002 heads?

I know the coils mounting brackets are different. Im talking about internally. Everyone says the 2002 heads are so much better.what makes them better? Also whats the difference between 2002 heads and ls6 heads?
