Chalk up another 918 break.

Some people might be shimming them tho? Were the broken ones shimmed?

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
You mind if I send you a pic of the spring when I get home so we can see if they broke in the same spot?
All the small block guys can't believe the valvespring failures we have. It's pretty irritating that they advertise this stuff to work in a certain range, but you don't get any warranty on the parts. I'm not aware of a way to foresee an upcoming broken spring - but if there is a trick please advise.
What are the common tuner's policys on what they cover if a valvespring they install/endorse breaks?
I get no SES lights. I guess I can remove the valve covers. Are there any online instructions on how to do this (torque specs) and what to look for.
Thanks for the help,
Tom

BTW, love the TR 224 and learning to love the 918's.
Kinda weird. I was at high rpm's when the spring let loose and I felt it drop in power and then barely got it home with extremely rough running.

Mine let go just before hitting the dyno... In fact, she was strapped in and was getting the straps checked... Started her up and *boom* no more spring....
Oh well....
the best part is no machining of the heads is required.
