Default Ordering New Cam from Thunder

Thunder Racing LS1 Cam Swap Package Includes:
- Your Choice of Thunder Racing Custom Grind Camshaft - Comp Cams 26918 Valve Springs
- Comp Cams 772 Titanium Retainers ($100 Additional)- Thunder Racing Stock Length Pushrods (7.400) - Cam Swap Gasket Kit (Specify Year of Car)

I'm going for the 220-114 to help with SMOG in California. Here are my mods.

I got a quote of 400 for install including tuning and porting my TB.

Is this a good mod? What gains might I expect? Is there a better 1100.00 dollar mod?

Dude,
Do a search on TR-220 114 LSA and you will find every question before you have to ask! This cam is all over the board(the 114)!!

I'm getting the same cam and package that you are, and I'm going to have Dave at Black Magic Racing do the install aswell.

As far as gains go, you should see close to 30 rwhp. If you had LT headers instead of ST headers, then you would see a little more of a gain. Their is no better mod for $1100 in my opinion. You will be very happy with this cam.

Oh, and I do know of a sound clip, which I could post here if you are interested. Of a 2001 Camaro SS with SLP LT headers, RT cats, wide open Borla, and the TR 220 114 LSA cam. It sounds bad a$$. Let me know if you want me to post the link here.

TR224/561@114 here.

Dropped 4 full tenths in the 1/4 by cam swap alone.

All before tuning.

Definitely happy with it.

Good luck, Stu
