Fired up the 409 for the first time today!!!
I know how you feel my friend. <img border="0" alt="[angel]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_angel.gif" />

<strong>WOW!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
You going to minitub the car and run a 30 inch slick?
Sounds like a lot of power, rev and gear to hook!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Congrats, are you going to run full exhaust etc? How is driveability? What compression?
Cool choice on the Iron block too, lots of rigidity for the high revs and compression!
Cheers,

I can't believe how docile the car is. Even with the iron disk clutch it was easy to drive (I guess that low end torque helps) Compression is in the 12.75:1 neighborhood (we had to do additional flycutting of the pistons and I didn't cc them afterwards) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I'm using a Kumho Ecsta 700 Competition tire. They should be good for about 3,000 miles. I had them shaved to 4/32's and heat cycled. Treadwear rating of 50 LOL. They are 335/35/17 and the diameter is only slightly larger than stock at 26.1

<strong>Congrats Shane!! You kept smiling for hours after we fired it up and took for a short blast. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Everyone knew you were about the happiest person in Baton Rouge. LOL The car looks just as good as it sounds.
Time to slap the 9" in w/ 4.57s and go break it in the Jason way. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Uhhhhhh........ <strong>WOW!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> maybe one day I can afford to build something like that! Until then I'll just drool over your's.</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Who says I can afford it!!! LOL!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> j/k... it is really a stretch for me to build something like this, but once you build it past a certain level, there are certain things you can't do without... 9" or 12 bolt etc... and the project just keeps growing and growing...
Without Geoff and Angie and the whole Thunder crew (and alot of my own "sweat equity") or Victor, Randall, and Joe of Fischer Automotive Specialties I could never have built anything like this. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
