What cam with GTP stage 2 heads? What cam with GTP stage 2 heads?
it will be on a daily driven A4 with a vig3200.
it will also see some nitrous but nothing more than 50-75. i want the most power but be able do drive the car around and on trips.

Re: What cam with GTP stage 2 heads? Chris Marsh ran 10's with a 226/226 585 585 114 cam and those heads. FMS now has a new lobe design applied to that very cam and its the F4 cam I run: 226/226 575 575 114. This cam would work well with those heads, your convertor, and a little shot of gas. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
The only other thing I can think of (other than tires) is that you might want to add some 3.73's along with the setup.

You can't go wrong witht the Thunder 224 cam. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> My friend dynoed 381 with stock heads and thunder cam. Then 443rwhp with GTP heads. Went from running 116mph with stock heads to 122mph with GTP heads. Full weight SS and then some (12 bolt) in warm LA air. I'll see if I can dig up the thread.
The cam is also good for a daily driver IMO. Just have your idle speed raised a little. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Re: What cam with GTP stage 2 heads? The 3.73's will make your convertor feel a little tighter, which is a good thing, and I believe you will pick up 400-600 cruise rpms.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention George C was running the 226 GTP combo too.
The 226 cam is very streetable. You will have to drill the throttle body hole a little bigger, and raise idle speed (in an a4), but I dont know of many cams with which this isnt the case.

Re: What cam with GTP stage 2 heads? I am running a vefy similar combo right now. I Have the 3200, with ARE stage 2 heads, and I have the TR 224 on a 112 ls.
I am going for dyno tuning tomorrow. & &'m going to see how much it will handle. I'm starting at a 75 shot & working up from there. I'll post after the weideband tuning & track times, hopefully Sat.
Right now, the car runs great, & pulls hard. I get a little surging, and a few stalls when I stop to fast. That should be taken care of tomorrow.
