Default Timing Chain

When doing a cam install, is it possible to put the timing chain 180 degrees off, regardless of the fact that the dots line up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> I am pretty sure it isn't , but I just want to clear my mind of that doubt. TIA
