Default Bore and stroke ?

Is the 4.8 the smallest LS1 based engine?

If so what is the bore and stroke?

Is it identical otherwise? Heads interchange etc....??

Oh yea.....what are some flow numbers for LS6 heads......and c5r heads? just roughly....500, 600 , 700 lift?

And what are the valve sizes? oem and aqftermaket?

What is the oem rod lenght? Are they all the same? 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0?

And are logher rods readily available?if so how long are they?

Here's the run down on the entire engine family. This is according to GM's web site.

Compression Ratio = 9.5:1
Factory Rated Horsepower = 270
Factory Rated Torque = 285

Vortec 5.3l 325.16cid Engine code: LM-7
Bore = 3.780” (96.01mm) Stroke = 3.622” (92.00mm)
Compression Ratio = 9.5:1
Factory Rated Horsepower = 285
Factory Rated Torque = 325

Vortec 5.7l 345.7cid Engine code: LS-1
Bore = 3.898” (99.0mm) Stroke = 3.622” (92.00mm)
Compression Ratio = 10.1:1
Factory Rated Horsepower = 350
Factory Rated Torque = 375 (equipped with manual trans) 360 (equipped with automatic trans)

Vortec 6.0l 364.13cid Engine code: LQ-4
Bore = 4.00” (101.6mm) Stroke = 3.622” (92.00mm)
Compression Ratio = 9.4:1
Factory Rated Horsepower = 300
Factory Rated Torque = 360
</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The cylinder heads are interchangeable with some small differences in chamber and intake valve size.

Hope this answers your questions. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Are all of them the same bottem end set up? 4 bolt mains....with 2 cross bolts....even in the iron blocks?

Are all the main journals the same size? Ie... are the cranks interchangeable?
