Ticking noise
Ticking noise Well... some of you may remember me posting bout this a while back, but I wanted to create a new thread with an update.
I am running a small cam on lontubes and almost everyone who has heard the noise says exhaust leak. Its not a constant noise. It happens usually after a WOT run.
I had a shop take a look at the complete valve train, pushrods, rockers they checked lifters at a machine shop and nothing is broken or sticking.
The last cluprit that I can come up with is that because Im on a stock tune with cam and longtubes that Im either running super lean or super rich and after a WOT run, the exhaust is so hot that it forms an exhaust leak but when it cools down, it seals up.
Is that possible? I dont know what else it would be. Its nothing on the lower half the engine and Im running on all 8 cylenders, so Im out of ideas...
