Im replacing my bootom end with forged pistons and rods cause of my boost application. Im studding the heads, and am wondering should i stud the mains? Is there anything else i should have studded?

Are ther stud kits out there for it?

Definitely a good idea. I burned up a couple of mains in my old motor. A little for money for insurance.

I will be putting a stock short block in mine for a while, but before it goes in, it'll get ARP main studs, rod bolts, and head studs.

If you are taking apart the motor enough to replace the pistons, there is no reason in the world not to do the mains also. Another thing to think about, if you have the motor disassembled that much, you could take out the stock crank and get it treated. Not too much more effort and the treating is not too expensive and it will add some extra strength <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Many times if you add studs to either the heads or mains, the "pull" will be different and especially on the main caps, you may have to have the main aligned honed.

I called Pace Performance two days ago. They sell them for $150.36 and they are in Ohio!
