uh oh- dropped lifter
Which lifters did you drop? If you dropped a lifter from Cyl. 1,2,7,or 8 you might be in luck. There are cut outs in the casting of the block in the knock sensor valley. Remove the intake and the plate underneath. You will see the "holes" I'm talking about. If the lifter fell against the crank and rod assembly you should be able to reetrieve it or at least see it. If it is any of the middle cylynders try running your magnet down the cam bore, underneath it is completely open to the crank. Good luck and I hope you do not have to yank the motor.
they were sitting side by side on the windage tray. then one fell off cause i couldnt hook onto it enough. rolled into the deep part of the pan <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> . but i managed to lower it enough to where i could stick my hand in there and fish it back out without taking the whole K member off.
whew. lot easier than i thought it was gonna be <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
