Default RACING FUEL ANYONE?

I was wondering if anyone has used race gas in there ls1. I heard it can burn up cats. So, I was thinking about mixing a little 114 octane with some 92 pump gas. Please let me know if you have any input. THanks guys

Leaded fuel will ruin your cats. Most of the higher octane fuels (110 and above) are leaded.

The highest unleaded that I have seen around here is 100 octane.

Anyway unless you are running very high compression or a high boost application "racing fuel" is not going to make more HP.

Running leaded race fuel will also destroy your O2 sensors. If you are running with "Ported High Flow" cats and do not mind changing O2 sensors about 1 a month or so, dump in the 118 Octane. Like what Speed Demon said, unless you are running a high compression or large boost motor, no needed for anything over 93 Octane

No need to use higher than 93 octane in a stock compression ratio LS1.

Unleaded racing fuel can be had up to at least 106 motor octane (which would be somewhere around 112 by the R+M/2 method which is what is used at the pump.) That would be good for even 14:1 engines.

Leaded fuel will not only ruin cats but will also foul O2 sensors in a hurry even if dilluted with unleaded fuel.

unless your know what your doing and understand the different chemical compositions of the fuel that you are using then i highly disagree playing with fuels...

Yes, leaded fuel will destroy your cats and o2 sensors in a hurry...

yes you can find power in fuel(not only higher octane leaded fuel but other supplements )even at stock compression

i mix a fuel that gives me approx 3 tenths and 3.5 mph...

i have stock internals and the car is relatively stock and our track is 2200 ft ASL and its vegas so its hot!!

check the sig and this is at 3650lbs(me included)
