My compression is 11.5:1 and I have the 224/228 XER on a 114. It is very managable and runs real hard up top with no real loss down low. I would have gone 228/232 but lack the necessary PTVC.

If I did it again, I would probably advance it maybe 4* and go with a 110 or a 112 lSA to move the power down a little or have Patrick G spec out a cam for me.

I'm starting to lean towards the 226/230 112+4 or a 228/232 112+4. Would ya'll consider these cams "area under the curve" cams or top end cams? I want to be right on the edge if not over the edge of the "perfect" daily driver cam which I've been told about and read about over and over to be the 224/228.

I'd vote for 224/224 110 +2. That will have some better snap in the lower midrange in town and pull nicely to 6200 with headers. For a little more top end, install it straight up and you're still going to have a very nice DCR.

So will a stall be necessary not to feel sluggish of the line or no since the TQ down low is similar?

I have an '02 Z with a Crane 228/232 @112+5, and .600/.600 lift. It's very close to the cam Patrick G recommends. I'm a little disappointed in the idle, as I wanted something a little more cammy sounding. It's pretty smooth sounding at 825 rpms, although it does rock the car a bit. I was going for a combo with a great midrange, and that's exactly what I got. It pulls really hard from just off idle, and doesn't seem to lose steam to redline. I had low speed drivability problems until I sent my LS2 TB to Tony Mamo to port. It drives like stock now around the city, and since it's not a DD for me, I'm thinking about taking it out again tonight after work, it's so much more pleasant to drive. BTW, the cam/heads combo worked out to a DCR of 8.5-1, and a SCR of 10.95-1. It runs on 92 octane, with no KR at all.

Just for an update, I went with the F11-112lsa. Apparently you have to wait forever to get your cam from Futral. I hope it's worth the wait! Thanks for all the input guys. Keep an eye out for my results here in a month or two.
