ls1 to ls6 conversion
Thanks 01LS6SS for the information.
Couple more questions:
1. The times you posted (ie. 12.5s and 111-112mph), was that after tuning?
2. Was the ls6 conversion the only modification you had done?
3. Do you have a stock rear end and gearing?
Thanks,
Jim

Here we go:
1.) The times were after using hypertech power programmer. I never had the car "professionally tuned" such as with LS1 edit or HP tuner. It ran perfect on the stock tune but I was unable to spin the motor past the stock rev-limiter, so I bought the power programmer. The power programmer seemed to give it alot extra power below 3500 rpm's.
2.) The only other mod is an SLP MAF and a K&N filter. I got the MAF cause I hear the LS6 vette has a larger MAF. It looks stock, especially with the stock airbox. LOL
3.) The car has the sock 10 bolt, gearing(3:42's), and even stock clutch.
Im sure it would make more power with a "professional tune", but I dont care about 10- 20 more horses with the possibility of having too much timing and pinging on hot days. You could probably make the about the same power without the SLP MAF, but I thought the $170 wasnt a bad deal. In reality it averages 12.7's cause its really hard to cut good 60 ft's at the track with the stock tires. I only use stock tires so my 10 bolt doesnt grenade! LOL
If you have anymore questions, let me know!
